Turkey History
Turkey is known to be the bridge between Asia and Europe. There are several historical places that are sight seeing in Turkey. If you see the world map, you will find out that Turkey is surrounded by for mighty oceans that cover the four sides of Turkey. These oceans are Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea and Aegean Sea. Turkey is full of history and traditions. An old saying is “Variety is the Spice of Life”. You will find Turkey in accordance with this saying. The History of Turkey is too old for today’s generation. Several Centuries are consumed for Turkey to become what it is today. After the Islam spread out from Saudi Arabia into the whole world, Turkey was known to be the center of Islamic nation. Its boundaries were known to be the largest in the history of the world. The Muslim Emperor or Ruler stayed in this country, so it is known to be the Capital of Islamic territory. As the years passed by, Muslim spread their country to far off places, but along with that, there also comes some crack in this very large and huge Islamic state and as a result, it broke down into pieces.
But still after that, Turkey remains the center of Islamic state. In World War I, Muslim from all over the world decided to support USA and Britain after a promise from USA and Britain that Turkey will retain its present status after the world war is over. But this effort of the Muslims goes in vain when Mustafa Kamal Atta Turk, General of Turkey takes over the hold and announced to end the “Khilafat” of Muslims that was present in that country from centuries. After that, Turkey appears as a strong Islamic country and soon recognizes itself as an important country for Muslims as well as Britain. As the years pass, Turkey progresses in almost every field of life including science and technology. Muslims all over the world still pay very respect to Turkey becai8se of its glowing and wonderful Islamic history. Turkey was also known to be the center of education and excellence in 12th century when People from all over the world travel to Turkey to gain knowledge.
Still you will find one of the biggest and oldest Islamic universities in the city of Anatolia in Turkey. Also, you will find many other historical places in Turkey like Hizirbay which is one of the oldest mosques of the world. There are many other historical buildings and places. Each one has its own importance and background story. Although turkey was known to be the stro9ngest and biggest Islamic state, it is unfortunate for the Muslims that it broke down in parts after riots. But it is still good to know that now Turkey has established their own tradition and customs which are interesting for the people of the world. Due to its location, Turkey was also very critical country during the world wars. It is situated half in Asia and half in Europe.
